The blurb:
Hilarious, touching and fun, Primrose Terrace will appeal to dog lovers everywhere and fans of Lucy Diamond, Cathy Bramley and Trisha Ashley.
Catherine ‘Cat’ Palmer realises, too late, that bringing an adorable puppy into work at the local nursery was a bad idea, especially after the ensuing chaos gets her the sack.
Determined to turn a negative into a positive, Cat decides this is the perfect opportunity to get her dog-walking business off the ground with the help of her flatmates, Polly and Joe. After all, Primrose Terrace where she lives, is full of home-alone hounds…
Wellies and Westies is the first part of a serialized novel told in four parts – all set in Primrose Terrace.
My Opinion:
*Book provided by the publisher on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*
I was so happy when I heard Cressida git a publishing deal with HarperCollins and when I read the blurbs and saw the beautiful covers, I was really excited.
Wellies and Westies tells the story ic Cat, who usn't iff to a good start at the beginning of the book. She gets fired from the nursery she works at and diesn't know what to do with her life. Talking to her roomate Poppy and and anither friend at Primrise Terrace she gets the idea of doing a dog-walking business. She starts wuth her friend Ellie's dogs and opens a Twitter and Facebook account to promote the business. She soon has a famous client, Jessica from number 1, she's an author. I loved who passionate Cat was about ut and she put all her heart in ut, that was feelable throughout the pages. Cat is a great character and I unstantly felt related to her, really well lined out as well.
Walking the dog she meets handsome Mark, who has a dog as well. The two of them get along really well, but Cat is unsure, because she thinks that Mark might be with Jessica.
I really liked Cat's and Mark's scenes together, the way the bumped into eachother and just their conversations. I believe there us a real spark there, bur we'll see.
Jessica invites Cat and her roommates Poppy and Poppy's brother Joe to a party, Mark is there as well. So there is plenty if time to find more clients and find out what the connection between Mark and Jessica is.
Poppy and Joe were great as well, Joe with his no dog rule ;) that could get interesting...
Cressida's writing has got it all: humor spark, magic and this very unique touch. I felt like being there with the characters, as part od the story, I could imagine all the scenes and moments so clearly, it's full kf rich details and written in a fresh and young voice. I can't wait to read the other parts if this series, I need them asap!!! ;)
