My favourite places/things to do in New York City

I actually don’t know, where to start this list, because New York is such an amazing city, I will try tell you about my favourite places and what makes them so special though. Here we go:

-       Central Park: This park is an absolute beauty! From the lakes and ponds, tot he bridges, the laws, the rocks, just everything is so pretty in this park. There are so many possibilities to relax, sit down and just enjoy the sunshine.
-       Top of the Rock: Need I say more! The view up there is breath-taking!!!! And you can see the Empire from it, which is amazing. A little tip if you are going: Choose a day with good weather and get a ticket with a chosen time the day before, like that you don’t have to wait for a long time.
-       Liberty Island: The view onto Manhattan from there is awesome and the statue is pretty great as well. Have a walk around the island and just enjoy this magnificent atmosphere.
-       9/11 Memorial and Museum: This left me speechless! The museum is so well done, it’s shocking, touching and ... And the memorial, wow! I can’t really describe the way I felt being there, memories of this day came back and when I was there, it was raining, which made it even more special to me.
-       New York Rangers/Madison Square Garden: A great arena and some fab live hockey!!!
-       Broadway: Musicals everywhere!!! This is my paradise, so many shows to choose from!!!
-       Times Square: Maybe not everyone’s taste, but you have to see it. The feeling standing on Times Square surrounded by all these lights is pretty awesome.
-       Shopping: New York is great for shopping. From 5th Avenue to Macy’s and so much more. My faves: Victoria Secret, Steve Madden, Massimo Dutti, Banana Republic, Abercrombie and Fitch...
-       Bryant Park: A lovely park, just located by the National Library. A great spot to look at the Empire State Building and just relax.
-       Empire State Building: You also have a great view up here, a bit closer to Downtown Manhattan, which is fab.

So here we go, these are my faves in NYC, I could go on, but I wanted to keep it small and really mention the most important things!

But her life falls apart when the schoolboy dies from his injuries. The police believe Anna’s story, until the autopsy results reveal something more sinister.

A frenzied media attack sends Anna into a spiral of self-doubt. Her precarious mental state is further threatened when she receives a chilling message from someone claiming to be the ‘Ophelia Killer’, responsible for a series of murders twenty years ago.

Is Anna as innocent as she claims? And is murder forgivable, if committed to save your child’s life…?

Fashion Corner - Oscar Night Edition

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Welcome to another Fashion Corner, as you might haver seen inn the last post I have changed the structure of the whole post a little bit. There will always be only one outfit, with more details though. Last month we had our theatre group AGM and we celebrated our 30 years anniversary, so we had a big motto "Oscar Night", there was even a little award ceremony. Anyway, here is what I wore:

It's a petrol sequin dress with 3/4 sleeves. The dress is from Jake's and I bought it at Peek and Cloppenburg. I wore black tights and high heels (Peter Kaiser) with it.
Also a long necklace with a pretty stone from my mum and as a bag I used an old small Guess bag I found in my cupboard ;). I also wore my nice diamond looking earrings and curled my hair a little and put them on one side.

The Meet Cute Series – The Boy with the Boxes & The Boy on the Bus by Katey Lovell

The Boy with the Boxes

The blurb:

A gorgeously romantic short story, part of The Meet Cute series.
Rosie's starting afresh. Her best friend and former housemate is starting a new life in Australia leaving Rosie to move into a new flat on her own. But when she meets her next door neighbour, Rosie realises she may not be quite so alone after all…

My Opinion:

More of the Meet Cute Series, yay!!! I really adored the previous books in this series and this one, I think, is my fave yet.

So we have the best friend leaving and very handsome neighbour, two great components of this book. It covers friendship, a new start and also an attraction between boy and girl.

This is such an adorable and cute little story written in a very sweet way. I just love these little Meet Cute instalements.

The Boy on the Bus

The blurb:

A gorgeously romantic short story, part of The Meet Cute series.
Lucy's morning bus journey is the highlight of her day – it's the only time she sees her crush. But how can he take up so many of her thoughts when she doesn't even know his name?

My Opinion:

This story actually reminds me of my high school days, when I was always waiting for the guy to come into the bus ;).

Katey captured it beautifully, authentic and very fresh. I felt close to Lucy and her emotions came across really well.

So here is another cute and sweet story in this series, really liked it.
