The blurb:
The second short story in the fun
& flirty #LoveLondon series from exciting new chick lit author Nikki Moore!
New Year, New Love… or Old Love,
New Start?
Everyone keeps telling Frankie
Taylor that a new year is a time for new beginnings. She's not so sure. Single
for six months, she's been more than happy on her own, thanks very much!
At least, that's what she thinks
until she receives a note on New Year’s Eve inviting her to follow the clues,
and her heart, across Knightsbridge.
But who's behind the romantic
adventure? Old flame Christian who she loved for years and was always there for
her, or new admirer and work colleague Zack, who has the habit of turning up in
all sorts of unexpected places?
There's only one way she's going to
find out…
My Opinion:
New
Year at the Ritz is Nikki’s second book in the
#LoveLondon series. I loved the first one Skating
at Somerset House and was really excited for this one.
The story follows Frankie, she has been single for a
while, she had a very tough year and now her friends want her to go out there
again. She doesn’t really want to though and who needs a boyfriend anyway?!
Then she gets a mysterious note, sending her on a
scavenger hunt throughout London. She’s not sure whether to really do it, but a
friend convinces her. While doing this, lots of memories come up and it made me
understand her better. Sometimes the memories seemed a bit too long and
detailed for me though.
During the hunt she gets to dress up and then she
finds herself in front of the Ritz. Who would do that for her anyway?! Her ex
Christian or maybe her colleague at work Zach?! Well, she is about to find out…
A lot happens at the Ritz and by the end Frankie finds
herself watching the fireworks on the rooftops, ready for the new year…
A sweet and flirty short story, I really enjoyed it. I
can’t wait to see what Nikki comes up with for the next book in the series ;)
Rating:
My possible cast:
Frankie: Rachel Weiss
Love the cover. Great character choices x
ReplyDeleteThe cover of the book is so cute and the story sounds so cute! I'm also planning on going to London in the fall so this series would be perfect to read before I go to get excited.
