My Opinion:
*Book provided
by the author in exchange for an honest review*
Leaves For Chloe starts where All
in the Leaves stopped, only with a different main character. We know the
main character already it’s Chloe, Anna’s best friend. To be honest with you I
had my problems with her and her behaviour in All in the Leaves, and I couldn’t
understand some of her actions in this book as well, but I got to like her and
she’s a great character.
Chloe is in a bad place
at the beginning, jealous of her best friend and still dating Howard, who is
married. Whenever she tries to break up with him, he finds a way to get her
under his spell again. When her beloved dog Josie dies, everything gets worse.
There is one light though: Angus. They met in Scotland and then at Anna’s
wedding again. She can see a future with him, if only he wouldn’t be so far
away. Angus is great: very caring, sweet, just the guy for her.
Getting a new dog, she
decides to start anew life and travel the country for a year. Always with hers
and Anna’s hotel dream in Scotland back in mind.
On her journey she meets
some great people, who become friends. There is Ange and most importantly
Shell, a jewellery designer who has a dog and joins her with her adventures. I
was really happy for Chloe, that she made such great friends, friends for life,
who are there for her 24/7. With Shell there comes David as well, all of them
with the plan of ending up in Scotland at one point, to make the hotel dream
come true.
Everything seems so
great, but there is still Howard, her annoying ex, who turns everywhere, she
travels to. He won’t leave her alone and she is confused. Even when she stops
traveling to be with the love of her life, Howard finds her. Can she move on?!
Adding some drama to the whole things, made the story more intense and
authentic.
It’s a story of a woman
finding herself and fighting for what she wants. Surprises and sweet gestures
made the story unique and special. I felt that some things moved a bit too fast
and there were just too many coincidences for my taste.
Pat’s writing is fresh,
bubbly, easy-going, loving and sweet. It drew me in immediately and I enjoyed
every second of it.
A heart warming story
about love, friendship and dreams...
