What they say:
'Etty Lawrence is a bestselling romance author. At least− she would be if she could just get someone to read her books. Apparently, Amazon doesn’t consider the 500 books purchased by your mother to be ‘bestseller’ material.
When Etty’s given some simple advice from a friend − write what you know − she takes it to heart. But she’s never been in love before, and she doesn’t really have time to fall in love and write a novel at the same time. So, she convinces her slightly unwilling lifelong friend, Travis, to let her follow him around and witness real love, first hand. A third person memoir, if you will. Travis is the perfect hero for her story: he’s funny, smart, and good looking; only there’s one problem. He says all the wrong things. Does any girl really want to talk about the NHL trades? And his jokes would make a kindergarten class roll their eyes.
But the worst part is, Travis’s dates laugh at his corny jokes; the jokes he told Etty first. They touch his sweater; the sweater Etty bought him. And the way these women swoon and gush over him…they obviously aren’t leading lady material.
Now Etty has to take this love thing into her own hands if she has any hope of writing a bestseller that people other than her mother will buy.'
My Opinion:
*Book provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review*
Etty Lawrence tries to be a successful writer with her historical romance novels, but that doesn’t seem to be her genre.
She is trying to sell her novels, but it doesn’t help.
With a little help from her friend she soon finds inspiration and that for she need her best friend Travis.
He should go on dates and find his true love. Etty would write about it all, like a 3rd person memoire.
Travis of course has to be convinced first and with some ground rules they go for it.
Etty finds herself not liking the women and made the dates very hilarious, but also weird.
The story may be a little predictable, but I didn’t mind at all. This story is full of sweet love, humour, but also significance, looking at Etty struggling to get her book published.
I was over the moon, when Travis told Etty that they were on a real date. This date was just adorable. And him facing his fears, I mean come on… <3 A real hero…
I loved seeing Travis and Etty together, their connection was really cute, a couple made for each other, but well…
Oh and then there was still Etty’s novel ;)
A brilliant chick-lit novel, with a great storyline and full of fun, love, authentic scenes and great characters.
The characters were very well lined out and I could realate to both Etty and Travis immediately. It was like in a movie or a dream, being there with them and being a part of the scene. BRILLIANT!!!
My possible cast:
Etty: Josefina Cisternas
Travis: Wes Brown
