The blurb:
Chocolate…the most irresistible
temptation?
The Gingerbread Café is all a buzz!
This Easter, Lily and the rest of the town of Ashford, Connecticut are planning
a truly decadent Chocolate Festival. Cooking up a storm, CeeCee and Lily are
not just baking a batch of their sinfully delicious chocolate-dipped
gingerbread men, but an excess of chocolate truffles, squidgy, cinnamony hot
cross buns and melt in your mouth chocolate eggs. The Gingerbread Café staff
have definitely enjoyed the tasting process!
Add in Damon’s cute-as-a-button
seven year old daughter, Charlie, up for a visit and Lily’s perfect Easter may
just be around the corner. Until her ex-husband Joel turns up demanding twenty
thousand dollars… Suddenly the future of the Gingerbread Café is not so
clear…and Lily finds herself eating far more of The Gingerbread Café’s treats
than her skinny jeans allow…
Can Lily concoct a brilliant plan
to save her beloved café, convince Damon she has no feelings for Joel and still
throw a Chocolate Festival the town will be talking about for years? There’s
only one way to find out...

cupcakes and hot chocolate of The Gingerbread Café – your home away from home

My Opinion:

The cover of
this novella is absolutely stunning, I LOVE IT
I was so
excited for this story to go on, if you’ve read Christmas at the Gingerbread
Cafe you understand what I mean.
Lily and Damon
are such a gorgeous and adorable couple. Their love is “feelable” through the
book and Rebecca created some great scenes showing us their deep, honest and
real relationship. Damon is such an awesome boyfriend. He’s caring, sexy,
romantic, smart, talented, a great daddy and much more…
Catching up
with Lily, Damon and CeeCee was so much fun and it made me feel all happy
inside.
We also get to
meet Damon’s daughter Charlie. Aww, such a darling and so sweet. The scenes
with her were so adorable
Lily has to fight
for her café, because her ex-husband comes back and wants money. I admired how
all the characters dealt with this situation and it added the right amount of
drama to it.
Lily has such a
big heart, a lovely and relateable character, like CeeCee. CeeCee is the
perfect mum/best friend type and she wants to help in every possible way and
she does.
Damon planned a
cute and great surprise for Lily in this book, my favourite scene by far,
although I loved them all. Not telling you more here, only that an easter egg
might be involved.
Another thing I
liked about this novella is that the story is set around the Gingerbread Cafe and all activities around easter. That brought so much atmosphere into it.
If you’d like
to know how Lily and Damon found each other, go read Christmas at the Gingerbread Café (my review will be part of the
Christmas special on the blog).
This novella is
gripping, fun, sweet, fascinating and nuch more Written in so
much depth and from the heart.
