Sky’s Musical Corner – CHESS The Composers

The music for CHESS was written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, the two men from ABBA. The lyrics are by Tim Rice, who has worked on a  lot of musicals with Andrew Lloyd Webber. Rice wanted to write a musical about the cold war for a while, but Mr Llyod Webber didn’t have time, so luckily the two ABBA men did ;).

Göran Bror "Benny" Andersson (born 1946)  is a Swedish musician & and composer, Björn Kristian Ulvaeus (born 1945) is a Swedish songwriter & producer. As close friends they were members of the Swedish music group ABBA (1972-1982) & composers of the musicals Chess and Mamma Mia!
