In for another treat by Holly Martin: back on Jewel Island and it's Christmas time, yay!!

Our main characters are Zoey Flynn and Kit Lewis and omg I absolutely adored these two together. They had instant chemistry and I would say are made for each other. Obviously, it's more complicated than that and that's what makes this story so wonderful and exciting.

Zoey has been through a lot in her past and is ready for a fresh start, without think about love and relationships. Oh well, Kit turns up in her life and everything changes. The scenes between them, getting to know each other were captured beautifully by Holly Martin and the storyline was full of ups and downs and secrets. So many beautiful moments, mixed with the Christmas magic.

Appearances by other familiar characters are always lovely as well, I just loved this little island and all the people.

This is the perfect Christmas book and so much more!!!

The Beginner’s Guide to Loneliness – by Laura Bambrey

The blurb:

Tori Williamson is alone. After a tragic event left her isolated from her loved ones, she’s been

struggling to find her way back to, well – herself. That’s why she set up her blog, The Beginner’s Guide to Loneliness, as a way of – anonymously – connecting with the outside world and reaching others who just need a little help sometimes.

When she’s offered a free spot on a wellbeing retreat in exchange for a review on her blog, Tori is anxious about opening herself up to new surroundings. But after her three closest friends – who she talks to online but has never actually met – convince her it’ll do her some good, she reluctantly agrees and heads off for three weeks in the wild (well, a farm in Wales).

From the moment she arrives, Tori is sceptical and quickly finds herself drawn to fellow sceptic Than, the retreat’s dark and mysterious latecomer. But as the beauty of The Farm slowly comes to light she realizes that opening herself up might not be the worst thing. And sharing a yurt with fellow retreater Bay definitely isn’t.  Will the retreat be able to fix Tori? Or will she finally learn that being lonely doesn’t mean she’s broken . . .

My Opinion:

The Beginner’s Guide to Loneliness is the blog our main character Tori Williamson started writing after she experienced a lot of grief and felt lonely. She went through a lot in her life and it’s difficult to deal with. Her three online friends and of course her blog help her get through it, or so she thinks.

And then she is offered a spot on a wellbeing retreat on a farm, in exchange for a review on her blog. Tori is very sceptical at first but decides to go anyway. She slowly starts to appreciate the wonderful things the farm has to offer and starts opening up. The other people there are lovely and very supportive.

Of course, that’s not here to stay. She has to fight her fears and deal with betrayal. On the other hand she makes great friends and even gets closer to one of the men. I will stop here, otherwise I’d spoil the whole story for you.

The story is full of ups and downs, Laura Brambery’s style of writing is very gripping and she created a wonderful atmosphere and storyline. She captured some beautiful moments and managed to include topics like grief and fear. It’s a warm-hearted and moving book with some authentic characters, lovely scenes and brilliant writing.

I loved following Tori’s journey and growth in this book and was very sad to leave it all at the end, I need more!

And we are back again!!!

Lyra and Nix both start working on Jewel Island at the same time.

Before their job starts, they hit it off immediately and spend some magical moments together.

The next day everything changes and both think the other one just left. A big misunderstanding of course, but they don’t know that.

We then follow both of them on their journey on the island and it’s very exciting, especially, when they see each other again.

I don’t want to give away too much, but let’s say that they have unique chemistry and their connection is obvious. Holly Martin captured that beautifully and I was hooked to the storyline.

Her writing just makes everything seem so authentic, vivid and sweet. Of course the setting is magical too.

The beginning of the book is exciting and makes you want to read on. I really liked both main characters and it was also fabulous to catch up with all my Jewel Island favourites.

I loved every second of this book!!!

My Opinion:

*Book provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review*

We are finally back on Jewel Island again, yay!!!

This time the story is focused on Skye. We of course already know her and I was very excited for her story. Things are complicated between her and Jesse and we finally got to into more depth.

Their feelings for each other are obvious, but Jesse is in Canada with his daughter. When Skye decides to organise a Pudding parade, she asks him to come and help and there he is.

I really adored their moments and scenes together, they are a perfect match, but they just don’t tell each other what they are feeling.

I don’t want to go into more detail here, you will just have to read the book. Holly Martin’s style is so vivid and fun, I got hooked immediately. She has a really talent of capturing these special moments and just makes a story so magical.

Of course it’s also always great to catch up with some other familiar characters. They are a wonderful big family on the island and I actually don’t want to leave them.

A gripping storyline, wonderful setting and awesome characters, this book is just amazing!!!
