Fashion Corner - Black Dress

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Time for a black dress in this Fashion Corner. It's my fave!

The dress is from sandro, I bought it last year. I wore it to my cousin's First Communion. It's elegant and pretty, perfect for an occasion like this.
I combined it with a blazer from Mango, my black high heels and my pink Coach bag.

2017 Favourites – January to June

Ever since I decided to only put travel videos on my YouTube, I haven’t written or talked about my favourite things oft he month. That’s why I decided to write a little post about the things I loved in the first half of this year. I won’t mention books or clothes, because I have my „Books oft he Month“ section and my „Fashion Corner“.

I'm so in love with the Coach bag I bought in Dallas. It's the perfect size, it has two parts and the color is great. I also adore the little purse I bought with it. It's the same color and it's perfect for traveling.

Bag or Bag

This backpack is fabulous!! Very handy, good for traveling and just so pretty. I didn't like backpacks, but now I do.

Coach is my favourite brands when it comes to bags. Whenever I'm in the States I buy one. Coach outlets are the best!!!

I use the petite planner for my blog and it's fab. It's very small and I still have enough space to write down everything I need. The notebook underneath it, is from Zara Home. I use it as a bullet journal now, where I have different topics like Traveling, TV Series or Hockey. I love bullet journals, but I'm not that good at it myself yet, it takes a lot of time, I hope I will get better, because it's fun.

Both, Anthropologie and Zara Home are my fave stores when it comes to home ware and notebooks/planners. I could buy the whole store.

My fave sunglasses are from RayBan, I bought them last year at a second hand store. Then there are my fave watch from Storm, my lovely earrings from Cadenza and my ring. I don't remember the brand of the ring, it's from our department store called GLOBUS though.

I finally bought a TARTE Rainforest of the Sea palette and I'm in love with it. The colours are great, the pigmentation as well and just everything about it. I also bought a little travel kit with a blush, contour and highlight from TARTE and three little brushes from Real Techniques.

This travel sized hand cream is from Rituals, I love this range, it's called The Ritual of Ayurveda. Then of course there has to be a MAC lipstick, this one is called Costa Chic. I discovered this John Frieda shampoo during my holidays in April, because I bought a travel sized version to try out. It's fabulous. It gives my hair so much volume and bad hair days don't happen that often anymore.

This picture is there to symbolize Iced Tea, preferably home made and with some lemon. It's refreshing, so it's perfect for spring and summer.

I use the eye cream from CaudaliĆ© as well as the day and night cream, I'm very happy with it. I have actually tried different ones and they are all great. Some are more for summer, some more for winter.

What are your faves?!

The Law of Attraction – by Roxie Cooper

Original Cover
My own copy

The blurb:

"Well, it's fair to say your background isn't conventional in terms of the average barrister…" Dolus points out. "Well that depends on your definition of conventional and who wants to be average anyway?"

Northern girl Amanda Bentley isn’t your average lawyer.

She spent her teenage years in the Working Men’s club and hanging out in the park to avoid going home. Fresh out of law school she lands pupillage at a top set of Chambers and is catapulted into a world completely alien to her own, fighting prejudice and snobbery at every turn.

Piling on the pressure, this year it is announced two candidates have been accepted but there’s only one job at the end of it. And her competition? Marty, her smarmy law school nemesis.

Throw into the mix an ill-advised romance with the staggeringly sexy Sid Ryder and Amanda quickly realises winning pupillage isn’t just about how good a lawyer you are.

But even if she does come out on top, all of it could be for nothing if her colleagues ever discover who she really is and one very dark secret.

My Opinion:

*Book provided by the publisher on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

So, the first thing that came to mind after starting this book: Legally Blonde! And yes there are similarities, but this a totally different story.

It follows Amanda Bentley, who lands a pupillage at one of the top Chambers. They actually took two candidates, the other one being Marty, her law school nemesis. The fact that she is a pretty woman doesn’t make her status easier.

The year of pupillage gives her a chance to fight for what she wants, show that she is great at her job and let go of her past.

There is sexy Sid Ryder to take her mind off things, her direct boss and then some people who don’t want the best for her, getting out things from her past and about her family.

I love following Amanda’s journey, especially seeing her work as a lawyer. It’s fun, feisty, exciting, entertaining, lively and engaging! I enjoyed getting more insight to the law and see how a great story was created around it.

The characters are vivid and fun, I struggled a bit with the pace of the story, but all in all it’s a fab debut novel! Can’t wait for more!
