My
Opinion:

My
Map of You is Isabelle Broom’s debut novel. I was really happy when I saw that
she wrote a book and the sound of this one is just fab.
Can
we take a short moment to appreciate the beauty of this cover!! So gorgeous,
I’m in love.
The
story follows Holly Wright, who has a great life, a good job and a caring boyfriend
at home in London. Her life changes rapidly, when she learns that she inherited
her aunt’s house in Zakynthos, Greece. The weird thing about this: She has
never met her aunt! So Holly flies to Greece to find out what is behind all
this.
She
is greeted very friendly by all these people, who know her aunt Sandra really
well. And then there is her neighbour Aidan! Oh my, he is hot! And he is really
nice as well. The sparks between them fly immediately, but Holly has a loving
boyfriend at home…
Well,
they spend a lot of time together and Aidan shows her the area. On top of this,
she still has to find out what happened between her aunt and her mother, and
who could be her father?!
We
get to read letters that Holly’s mum Jen sent her sister and we learn more
about the whole situation. We also find out that Holly’s mum killed herself.
Holly shares this with Aidan, which is really special, he is the only one who
knows. Also Aidan shares very personal things with her. One thing leads to
another and their feelings for each other get stronger.
But
then out of the blue, Holly’s boyfriend Rupert arrives in Greece and the drama
gets really intense. Holly also sees Aidan with another woman and gets all
confused. Turns out Aidan also knew something about her father and didn’t tell
her.
The
Greek people are so nice, they all added a great touch to the story.
My
favourite part of this story were probably the scenes between Holly and Aidan,
I just loved seeing them together and their connection came through so well.
Aidan is a great man, I definitely wouldn’t say no to him! ;)
With
his secret, the mystery around her aunt, her confused feelings and learning who
her father is, Holly is a mess! In Isabelle’s writing Holly’s feelings were
described really well and the emotions were just transmitted beautifully.
Isabelle’s writing is so wonderful and warm, full of vivid details, a great storyline
and amazing characters. I adored every second of this fabulous book and think
Isabelle is a really talented author. I can’t wait to read more of her stories.
