The Story of My Book Corner - Laura H.

I've recently moved into my first house and was lucky enough to turn one of the spare
rooms into a study, for when I work from home or are in the midst of blogging.

In my study is my bookcase. I only have the one (at the moment, anyway) and absolutely love it. My other half actually picked out the white and grey colour combo, which I think really stands out and makes it a little bit different.

In comparison to some other shelves Ive seen, mine might look a little sparse, but it holds some treasured books. Books that have unveiled emotions, books I became lost in, books that helped me through tough times. Before I started blogging, I tended to only have copies of the books that meant a lot to me, that I really enjoyed and knew Id go back to. Now, with blogging, thats changed slightly as Im lucky enough to receive ARCS, as well as buying more books than ever for my reviews!

I organised my bookshelf in alphabetical order. Im a really organised person, and have a reading list for the month ahead, which includes any books out for publication, books I need to review for blog tours, or just books that I really want to read. This means that I dont need to divide my shelf into read/to read, I can have it alphabetised and find the books I need.

On the top left, lent across the others are my library books. I keep those there so I remember theyre not mine and I do need to actually give them back (sob!). On the right hand side, next to that are any books Ive recently received and not had chance to fit into my shelf yet.

Currently my top and bottom shelves aren't dedicated to books - the bottom is taken up with personal admin, house files etc and the top is personalised with toys and knick-knacks. I think Im going to have to re-arrange this and use one of the shelves for books though, as Im fast running out of room.

When Im reading, I sit in my reading chair. Its a cosy, cuddle chair that swivels round which is placed in the window so has great lighting. When we were picking out a suite for our living room, this kind of chair was the top of my list and Im ecstatic I found one! It it SO comfy and I love spending weekends snuggled in this chair, with a cup of tea and a good book.

So, there you have it. My little book corner, and a place I hold dear.

Thanks so much for having me on your reading corner Simona, I really enjoyed it!
