The blurb:

Home, sweet home…

Joy Cartier has been to some of the most beautiful places in the world – but none of them have ever felt like home. So moving into a tiny cottage in the idyllic village of Bramble Hill, walking distance from her childhood home, seems like the perfect plan.

That is, until she gets there. The surly inhabitants of Britain’s Friendliest Village are anything but welcoming. Even her neighbour, reclusive Hollywood star Finn Mackenzie, takes one look at her and walks in the other direction.

But when the village animosity steps up a gear, it is the infuriatingly brooding Finn who keeps coming to her rescue. Slowly Joy begins to realise that maybe a happy home isn’t about where you live, but who you’re with…

My Opinion:

*Book provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*

I was really excited to read this debut novel by Amelia Throne. The book sounded great and let me tell you this: IT’S AMAZING!!!

The first chapter was the perfect start to the story, a little mysterious and secretive.

Joy moves to the village of Bramble Hill with the hope of finally finding a real home and since it’s really close to the farm, where she grew up her hopes are high.
However, it turns out that the villagers don’t like her for some reason and her neighbour Finn Mackenzie doesn’t seem to like her. There are Casey and his brother Zach as well. I liked Casey from the start, him being so open about being gay and the two of them building a great friendship, was a pleasure to read about. I was so glad for Joy to have found such a wonderful friend. Zach just wanted one thing from her though…

And there was still Finn, unfriendly Finn, suddenly coming for her rescue and caring for her, several times. I practically saw the sparks flying around there, so much chemistry between them!!!
He stopped going for more though, because of what happened in his past.

I loved the two of them spending time together, getting to know each other and sharing intimate things about their pasts. There was also one thing connecting them…
Finn is amazing! A strong and sometimes a bit cold guy, having so much heart, love and care for a woman. Let’s just say I found me new book boyfriend ;)

Casey kind of had his own story to tell as well, being in love with his best friend and marrying a girl he doesn’t like…
Well, also Casey found his real home…
Joy’s brother Alex was there for his sister throughout the story and I liked how Amelia included him in this whole thing.

Where is home?! That was question Joy had to think about a lot and having developed feelings for Finn, didn’t make this situation easier. What about him and his feelings? Would he let go of his past and finally trust someone again?!

This story is a real emotional masterpiece!!! Full of heart, real feelings, a brilliantly written storyline, authentic characters and so much more. The ending and the epilogue were just so adorable. I had to read them again after finishing the book, because I just fell in love with the words. Joy’s and Finn’s moments were so real and honest and they had such a strong connection, it’s was a real pleasure to read their story and I was so sad when it all ended. I wanted to stay in this story.

This is a story I’ll never forget! I’m still in LOVE and I couldn’t put this book down, I even found myself reading at school, when I had like 5 spare minutes, because I just needed to know!!!

Amelia Throne thank you for such a wonderful, touching and heart-warming story!!! You’re a genius!!!
