My Opinion:

This story got me hooked from the beginning. The writing is fresh, new, enjoyable and gripping.

There is April, a lovely 20 years old girl, starting University. She seemed very down to earth and it was easy for me to relate to her. She left home and her best friend to be at Manchester University.

On her first day, she bumps into this gorgeous, hot and sexy man, she is instantly drawn to him. The first time they spend together at the Uni mixer, he already shows her something he never showed anyone. Well for me it was clear what that meant, but it was only the beginning of the story. I liked Isaac (that’s his name) already and couldn’t wait to read more about him and they’re connection was undeniable.
Only one day later we learn that a relationship between Isaac and April is not acceptable and April has a real hard time fighting her feelings.

She meets Lukas, nice and supportive Lukas. I really admired their friendship and was hoping they would stay friends, because it was obvious they needed each other in their lives, but I wanted her to be with Isaac, so I didn’t want more happening between Lukas and her.

April goes through a lot in this book and for a while I really had no idea with whom she was going to end up, although I had my clear preferences. All of the three characters had their secrets and that made the story fascinating and it also intensified the drama.
I loved how Isaac cared for “his girl” when she was feeling bad, he’s great. The scenes between them were full of chemistry and attraction and Karli found a brilliant way to share this with us readers. The romantic scenes were written brilliantly.

The ending is a bit of a surprise and it made me download book number two right after finishing this one. A great debut novel by such a talented writer.
