Remember Me? - by Sophie Kinsella

Original Cover
My own copy

The blurb:

Lexi wakes up in a hospital bed after a car accident, thinking it’s 2004 and she’s a twenty-five-year old with crooked teeth and a disastrous love life. But, to her disbelief, she learns it’s actually 2007 – she’s twenty-eight, her teeth are straight, she’s the boss of her department – and she’s married! To a good-looking millionaire! How on earth did she land the dream life??!

She can’t believe her luck – especially when she sees her stunning new home. She’s sure she’ll have a fantastic marriage once she gets to know her husband again. He’s drawn up a ‘manual of our marriage’, which should help.

But as she learns more about her new self, chinks start to appear in the perfect life. All her old colleagues hate her. A rival is after her job. Then a dishevelled, sexy guy turns up… and lands a new bombshell.

What the **** happened to her? Will she ever remember? And what will happen if she does?

My Opinion:

What would you do if you forgot about the last three years of your life and everything has changed?

Well, this is exactly what happened to Lexi. She had a car accident in her Mercedes. BUT, she can’t not even drive and above all she can’t afford a car like that. She thinks it is 2004, but it’s 2007. She’s got amnesia.
She hast he most drop-dead gorgeous husband and a great job. She goes back to this life, without remembering anything. She tries to enjoy every single moment, but doesn’t remember anything. Such a weird situation, but it was a pleasure accompanying Lexi on her journey back to life and finding out more about the person she now is.

And it gets even more complicated: There is a guy, apparently one of Eric’ (her husband) colleagues, who tells her that they are having an affair. She doesn’t know what to think. Sophie found a great way to let us know how Lexi feels, I really liked the writing.

And there is work. Her colleagues hate her and she is a mean boss.
Moreover, there is no spark and no attraction between her and Eric.

Then there is this melody and ...

... a memory. Just a small one, but it doesn’t matter. The memory is about Jon, her affair.
Not telling you more here… ;)

A gripping story with an okay end. For me there was no real end and we know where she is going in the end, but I missed this last spark and the information there. We don’t even hear what happens with the other guy, Lexi isn’t chosing.
In the story Lexi has that a perfect life with money and success and it turns out it isn’t always a happy life, beautiful message. The novel is so lively and hilarious. :)
