The blurb:

Releasing on 1st September 2015 in both digital format and paperback, The Curvy Girls Baby Club, written by best-selling author Michele Gorman, is the body-positive, uplifting and very funny novella about three curvy friends trying to keep their sense of humour and self-esteem in the face of life, love and a Christmas due date.

Ellie is fresh back from her honeymoon and can’t wait to share her news with her best friends Katie and Jane. To everyone’s surprise, mother-of-two Jane has news of her own… The women are due a day apart, on December 25th and 26th, and Katie can’t wait to be an honorary auntie to the babies.

But it’s hard to keep your sense of humour, not to mention your self-esteem, in the face of haemorrhoids and elasticated waistbands. Add a clingy mother-in-law, a career in cardiac arrest and a sex life that makes Mother Theresa look lusty, and soon their lives are as out of control as their bodies.

As the co-founders of The Curvy Girls Club, where loving yourself is the only rule, will the friends be able to practice what they preach?

My Opinion:

It was so great to be back with Katie, Jane and Ellie. The book continues their stories and tells us what happened. Ellie is now happily married to Thomas, Katie is happy with Rob and Jane just loves being with her family. When one after the other announces that she is pregnant, is’s clear that they are really doing everything together, obviously this was not planned and can only happen in a book, but I didn’t care. Michele wrote it in such a sweet and funny way, that I loved this situation.
Of course one pregnancy is more of a surprise than the other and especially for Katie it is a bit of a surprise.

It was funny following them around through their pregnancy, all three women had to deal with other things as well. Ellie didn’t have a moment with Thomas alone, because his mother Millicent always showed up. She was a bit of a pain in the a**, but really surprised me in the end. Jane is dealing with her family life and also her job. Her boss wants her to hide the pregnancy on TV, which is just not fair. And Katie, well she and Rob just moved in together and now she’s pregnant already?! A lot to take in… ;)

The three women are just awesome to follow around, I love their friendship and they still had their own story to tell. The writing is funny, fresh, bubbly and sparkly. A great and entertaining book with an awesome storyline, memorable characters and a “baby” inspired charm ;).
