Welcome to Sky’s Curly YouTube Corner

So, here it is...

THE MOMENT

... I’m starting a YouTube channel.

This is a step in my blogging journey I’m excited and really nervous about at the same time. I never liked hearing my voice or seeing myself on screen. I got a bit used to it, when seeing myslef on stage of a musical, but it’s not the same. I have had my YouTube channel for a while, uploading cover songs and book trailers. I’m still really enjoying singing and playing the piano, so I think there will be more of these kinds of videos.

Last year (2015), my blog developed in being more than a book blogger, I write more lifestyle, travel and fashion posts. I even might add some beauty into it. This meant that I met (online) and discovered a lot of lifestyle, fashion and beauty bloggers and youtubers. I have especially been enjoying Josie from FashionMumblr, Ellie from The Elle Next Door, Hannah Gale and Corrie from Dizzy Brunette. Their channels are great and I really like their videos. These ladies have been a great inspiration for me, I’m not sure what I will post on my channel, but there will be some travel related things for sure. I also have no idea how many videos I will post per month, but we’ll see. I also don’t want it to get in the way of my actual blog and my job.

I am totally new to all this, which also means that I don’t know anything about how to do this etc. I am filming with an old camera and mostly bad lighting (I think). The first time I filmed myself, my head wasn’t really in the screen and the second time was a bit better ;) I am planning to buy a new camera anyway. I still feel weird and think I’m awkward in front of the camera, I hope that will change soon, experience will definitely help.

The first video I made is kind of an introduction, some pics to begin with and then me introducing myself with the help of some objects. In the end there are some snippets out of my life. I really hope you enjoy it, I’m very grateful for feedback, so leave me comments and let me know what you think.

Also a quick thank you to Kayleigh from Very Berry Cosmo! Your post "A Beginner's Guide to YouTube" was really helpful.

Here it is: *hides nervously*
