Suddenly Last Summer - by Sarah Morgan

The blurb:

Bestselling author Sarah Morgan delivers another irresistible hero in her O'Neil Brothers series who's more tempting than dessert and twice as sinful!

Fiery French chef Élise Philippe is having a seriously bad day. Not only have the opening day plans for her beloved café fallen apart, but Sean O'Neil is back in town, and looking more delectable than ever. Last summer, they shared an electrifying night together…and the memories have Élise really struggling to stick to her one-night-only rule! Her head knows that eventually Sean will be leaving, so all she can do is try to ignore her heart before she spontaneously combusts with lust.

Being back in Vermont—even temporarily—is surgeon Sean O'Neil's worst nightmare. For Sean, returning home to the Snow Crystal Resort means being forced to confront the reasons and the guilt he feels about rejecting his family's rural lifestyle years ago. But discovering that Élise has settled in Vermont and still sets his blood racing is a very welcome distraction! Thinking he can persuade her into a replay of last summer is tempting, but remembering how good they are together is going to make walking away more difficult than he could imagine…

My Opinion:

We are back in the world of the Snow Crystal resort. Remember Jackson and Kayla from Sleigh Bells in the Snow? Well now it’s Jackson’s twin brother Sean’s turn. I loved Sleigh Bells in the Snow so much and couldn’t wait for this book!

Sean comes back home when has grandfather is in hospital and then he meets her again: Elise, they had one passionate night the summer before and the chemistry still seems to be there. They both try to hold back their lust and passion, but after a while they grow closer again, and since they are both not interested in a relationship it won’t be something serious.
Sean is great, he has something really sexy about him and you just have to like him (I still like Jackson more though, much more). However, it took me quite a while to get into the story and I had problems warming up with Elise. She is really stubborn and sometimes I just didn’t understand her way of thinking and her actions.

It was great to read this story from both perspectives. It gave more insight to their personality and made this story so colourful. The thing I loved most about the book was that family played a big role in it, but not only family, but also romance. There are some great romantic scenes in here: HOT!
Sean had to figure out a lot and a fight with his grandfather was a big part in this story. It took him a while to solve this problem and talk to him, but when he did, their deep relationship was obvious to everyone. The whole family bond is amazing and I loved having them all in one place. It was extra special to read about Jackson and Kayla again and see what changed since I last read about them.

Both Sean and Elise had to figure out stuff about their lives, stop thinking about the past and just be true to themselves. Sometimes I felt that the story didn’t really develop, because they were so stubborn and not true to themselves.

I enjoyed reading this novel so much, I even brought it with me on my trip to Riga, Latvia. This Snow Crystal Resort world is amazing, I was I could go there for holidays. They way Sarah describes this beautiful world is incredible, there are so many magical places in this book, described in the most beautiful way.
Well done Sarah, I can’t wait for Tyler’s book and I hope to hear more about Sean, Elise, Jackson and Kayla.
