Final Call - by Emma Hart

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

My own copy
Original Cover

The blurb:

We crashed and burned like a falling plane. Hard and fast with an inevitable explosion. Another few weeks together changed my life the way the first did. At twenty-four, I became naïve again. I became a dreamer again. A believer. And walking away hurts just as much as it did seven years ago.

But over doesn’t have to mean over-at least in Aaron Stone’s mind. His pursuit is relentless, his determination unwavering. He’ll go to any lengths to keep me and prove that I belong to him. Unfortunately, love isn’t easy, and whether or not I forgive him is irrelevant to his past catching up with us. Once again, our relationship is haunted by a secret, one that could destroy everything, and the secret is born from the need to protect the other…

But the tables have turned, because the secret is mine.

**FINAL CALL is the second and final book in the Call series.**

My Opinion:

*Book provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*

I’ve been waiting for this book ever since I finished Late Call. The end was so tense and I just wanted to know how it all will continue. You can find my review of Late Call here: http://skysbookcorner.blogspot.ch/2014/04/book-tour-late-call-by-emma-hart.html

It was so great diving into Dayton’s and Aaron’s story again. This one is even more passionate, steamy, full of electricity, teasing and tension!

Well, Aaron wasn’t totally honest with Dayton and she finds out that he is/was married. At the beginning of this book she’s back in Seattle, not working and a total mess. After a week of pining her best friend Liv takes her out and whoops there he is, in Seattle. He lives and works their now and Dayton is instantly reminded of how much she loves that man, but can she forgive him?

Aaron is certainly doing everything in his power to get his girl back and eventually she agrees of trying it again, but he has to make up for it. Well, Aaron has his own ways of ding that and he will definitely get what he wants.
Their scenes were flirty and their love making moments were full of tension and electricity, different every single time… Emma really understands to describe these scenes and also the rest of the storyline is so real and gripping.

It wouldn’t be a great story without some drama and when Aaron’s ex-wife starts blackmailing Dayton and threatens to expose her call girl past, the drama intensifies immediately. Dayton is shocked and doesn’t tell Aaron, it would also ruin his business.

Dayton accompanies Aaron to London where she meets his cousin Tyler (the worst man-whore ever!). She starts thinking about her future, giving up her job and being with Aaron forever, even the moving in and the marriage topic come up at one point, but is she ready for that? She finds herself telling Tyler everything and Naomi (the ex wife) is still blackmailing her. Tyler is a photographer and Dayton seems to be interested to do something like that do something like that in the future.

Back in Seattle everything get worse and Dayton has a breakdown, telling Aaron. Can he fix it or is Naomi exposing everything. Aaron sure will do everything in his power to protect his girl.

I loved the scenes when they were just talking about their feelings and when they were true and honest about them to each other. Aaron is so protective and caring… <3

We also get the possibility to get to know Liv a bit better and Tyler as well. Well, let’s say I had a feeling about them… The third book in this series is already calling!!! I can’t wait to see with what Emma comes up now!

The last chapter was full of feelings and they came through all the way. Oh, and the epilogue – AWESOME!!!

A flirty, steamy, passionate book full of real love!!!! Emma’s writing takes you in immediately.

The Vixen and the Vet - by Katy Regnery

Original Cover
My own copy
The blurb:

Burned by an unreliable source, Savannah Carmichael, returns to her hometown of Danvers, Virginia with her once-promising journalism career in ruins. Given the opportunity to get her skin back in the game by writing a patriotic human interest piece, Savannah turns her attention to the town hermit, Asher Lee, a wounded veteran who returned to Danvers eight years ago, and hasn’t been seen since.

After an IED explosion in Afghanistan took Asher’s hand and disfigured half of his face, he's lived a quiet life on the outskirts of Danvers where the locals respect his privacy…that is, until Savannah Carmichael comes calling in a borrowed sundress and a plate of homemade brownies. When Asher agrees to be interviewed by Savannah, he starts feelings things for the beautiful reporter that he hasn’t felt in years.

Misfits in small-town Danvers, Savannah and Asher create a bond right away, touching each other’s hearts in ways neither thought possible. When a terrible mistake threatens to drive them apart, they’ll have to decide if the love they found in one another’s arms is strong enough to fight for their hard-won happily ever after.

My Opinion:

*Book provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*

So, the wonderful Katy did it again!!!!

Savannah returns to her hometown Danvers heartbroken and without a job.
There she is surrounded by her parents and her sister Scarlet who is about to get married, but Savannah who is supposed to be the maid of honour is not really in the mood for the whole wedding thing.

She gets the chance to write an article for another newspaper and get a job in Phoenix and that for she wants to interview Asher Lee, a wounded veteran.

Asher hasn’t had a real life for 8 years, staying at home all the time, not wanting others to see his wounds. However, he agrees for Savannah to interview him and his terms.
The two of them get along really well. We see Asher open up to her, which made me smile. It seemed liked he finally found someone to live for.
One night he prepared a small picnic for her and that’s where all get more intense and emotional.

What the two of them shared and felt for each other was strong and amazing from the start and loved seeing their relationship develop in a passionate, sweet and deep way.
I loved their scenes together; Katy managed to create an amazing atmosphere around them.
It was great to read about both their perspective’s changing between the two of the from time to time. It made me understand both of them better and especially Asher, who has gone through a lot in has past.
I was so happy for him that he finally found someone to share everything with and finally being intimate with a woman again. They were falling for each other fast and hard!!!

Now you probably think where the drama is in this story. Well, there was still Savannah’s article and she had to change the theme (she never told Asher) and then this article is exposed! Unfortunately not in the way she originally wrote it and that’s when their love is put on the test!

Asher went to Maryland from time to time to get some operations done, for his wounds and to finally show himself public with his girl. But now…

Can the two of them find a way to be together, will they figure everything out and be honest to each other and trust each other?
Well, let me just tell you this: Savannah created something beautiful, for a good cause.

I loved how Katy introduced the chapters to us with a saying about real love. These saying were part of the first chapter and made this story even more special…
The first time you…

So Katy showed that she is the QUEEN OF ROMANCE in an incredible way. This story is wonderful, telling the love of a great couple. The writing takes you INTO the book immediately; it’s so emotional, powerful, sweet and romantic!!!!

Rating:

My passible cast:

Savannah: Rachel Bilson

Asher: Wilson Bethel (Asher is badly wounded in the story, so he's look a bit different...)

Waiting For Prince Harry - by Aven Ellis

Original Cover
My own copy
The blurb:

Twenty-four-year-old Kylie Reed has always been a rule follower. Organized and cautious to a fault, her dreams for life are often filed away for future use—when she has a house, when she meets her future husband, when she has been at her visual display job at a chic Dallas boutique longer...Kylie always has a reason for living her life in the future, not in the present, and not living her life to the fullest and reaching her dream of becoming a fashion designer.

The only exception to rules, of course, would be running away with Prince Harry—Kylie’s ideal man. A hot, fun ginger boy would be worth breaking all the rules for, of course. And Kylie is sure Harry just needs the right, centering woman to settle him down. But living in Dallas and not knowing Prince Harry make this a non-option.

Or does it?

Because when Kylie accidentally falls into the lap of a gorgeous ginger boy—yes, even more gorgeous than the real Prince Harry—all bets are off. Could this stranger be the one to show Kylie how to take a chance, to face her fears, and live in the present? And could this stranger be the Prince Harry she has been waiting for? Kylie’s life takes some unexpected twists and turns thanks to this chance encounter, and she knows her life will never be the same because of it..

My Opinion:

*Book provided by author in exchange for an honest review*

I don’t even know where to begin, cause I have so many thoughts in my head and I feel like there are not enough words to describe how I feel about this amazing story.
First of all I’d like to thank Aven for sending me an ARC for her second novel. I was dancing and screaming around the house when I got your email dear, thank you, for everything xxx

Let’s start with this gorgeous cover, I absolutely adore it. The flag on top melting into the skyline of Dallas, the hockey player, the girl, the colours... WOW

The first few words and I was already deep into this story and loving it. Kylie is such a charismatic and lovely character.  She reminded me of myself in some ways and that made it so easy to relate to her.
Her biggest dream is to become a fashion designer and she works for a store called Boutique Dallas in Highland Park doing their visual displays.
Now she just has to find her Prince Harry and I mean who hasn’t been thinking about their personal one, I certainly have.

The story is set in Dallas, I really liked reading about this city, I think I have to go there and visit now.

At her brother’s wedding she is really bored and goes to the hotel bar and there she accidentally falls into Harrison Flynn’s lap. I so loved this moment and the way the two of them got to know each other is just so sweet.

Harrison Flynn is a famous hockey player of the Dallas Demons and me as a huge hockey fan was so happy that sport was included in this novel. Harrison is gorgeous and sexy with his green eyes and ginger hair. The connection between him and Kylie was there the first second and I couldn’t wait for their story to continue.

It’s so great how he finds her again and just stands in front of her when she’s working. Aven described all their scenes in such detail and with so much heart. It was funny, flirty and really refreshing.
The way their relationship develops after that is so adorable, with some unexpected situations which made me never want to leave the story again. I was shocked at one time and then relieved again, let’s say I went through a big range of emotions and was so hooked! I couldn’t put the book down.

Harrison is the perfect man, oh my… He’s so attentive, caring, passionate, sexy, gorgeous, clever, and intelligent… Can I have him please?! ;)

I loved reading about their dates. All their scenes were so adorable, cute and sexy. They are the perfect match and that really comes across all the time. The way they treat each other and want to be there for each other all the time, so cute.
Kylie wants to find HER Prince Harry and it’s great to read about her feelings developing for Harrison and realising that he might be it. I laughed so much in the scene where Harrison sees that Kylie has Prince Harry as a screensaver on her phone, LOL.

Life isn’t perfect though and they soon have to deal with her family, the decisions they made in the past and most of all his life in the tabloids. He wants to protect her from this, which made me love him even more. The question was whether Kylie was really ok with the media and her sudden stamp of being his girlfriend in the press.

Aven has a real gift to make a story feel so real, authentic and vivid. To say it in Harrison’s words: This novel is WICKED!!! I felt like being part of this wonderful story and seeing it as a movie in my head. Isn’t that what reading is all about?

Both characters still have to learn things about life and it’s great how they help each other see that light. The road to get there is rocky, but eventually they find it. Both Kylie and Harrison are so passionate for both their dreams to come true and they fight for it together.
There is still enough drama to make this story even more gripping, fascinating and absorbing.

This novel shows that you can do anything in life when you found your “Prince Harry” to share it with. Believe in your dreams and make them happen.

Every single scene was unique and special, described in detail and with so much heart and emotion.
There is also a lot of flirting involved, which made this story so bubbly, sexy and passionate.

The epilogue is so charming, I need more Kylie and Harrison, please!!!

Each chapter started with a pop quiz question describing the content of the chapter. That’s such a great idea :)

British royals are also mentioned in this novel, yay!!! ;)

Brilliant job Aven! This novel is amazing! You’re writing is perfect  This story is an awesome summer read, you’re in for a real treat!

MARVELLOUS, AMAZING, INCREDIBLE; REMARKABLE, TOUCHING, BRILLIANT, BRIGHT, FRESH, INTENSE and last but not least

WICKED , to say it in Harrison’s words. ♥ ♥  ♥ ♥
