--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My passion for reading started when I was only a few years old. My mum used to take me to the library once a week to pick out some books. Some of my favourites when I was younger were the Sweet Valley High books and Black Beauty.

I have always loved reading as I love delving into a completely different life. Following the many different stories and lives that can be found amongst the pages of a book. It’s like escapism – completely consuming myself with another reality, becoming attached to the characters of a story and finding that I eat, sleep and breathe them whilst I’m reading the book.

I love that you can visit the entire world within a book – a skilful writer can really bring the location of their book alive through imagery and through appealing to the readers’ senses. You can visit so many new places without having to tear yourself away from the comfort of your sofa.

When I read a book I completely throw myself into the life of the characters that I feel as though I almost become part of their story. I often have a book hangover where I have become so indulged in a story that it is hard to move on. But I love that! I love being consumed by fascinating characters. And who can complain about some of those wonderful book boyfriends out there! ;) Finishing a good book is like waking up from the perfect dream… you would do anything not to wake up and to hold on to that dream.

My passion for reading draws its strength from the affect a book has, the potential of having on me. There are a number of books that I have read which have really struck a chord in me, and have either given me the strength to get through something, to try something new or inspired me in a whole new venture I had never even considered. And to be honest that is how I came to be a Book Blogger. I was reading Lindsey Kelk’s I heart series, and found myself excited by the life that Angela, the protagonist, was leading as a blogger in New York. I have always loved writing, and this felt like an exciting way to start doing it. After finishing I heart Paris I decided that was it… I wanted a piece of that world. And I have to admit that I was not prepared for the beautiful journey it would bring me on. I have met so many wonderful people, lovely friends, and discovered so many amazing new authors.

I am so glad that I became a part of this world so I can share my passion with so many others who feel the same as I do. I am hoping one day that I will be able to write a novel of my own – the biggest struggle is knowing what I am going to write about. Hopefully I will find my way someday soon… and who knows, it could be the beautiful words in the pages of another book that inspire me on that part of my journey.
