My Opinion:

I know the book came out last year, but I waited for the paperback. I think the are just more handy and the work better with the rstnof my books in my bookshelf. Well, anyway I was really excited to read this and see what Louisa Clark has been up too. Me Before You is still one of my faveourite books ever!

Louisa Clark now works in an airport bar, life is not exciting at all, she still tries to get over the love of her life and she has a lot of questions. Something has to change and she is determined to make to next step. When a person she doesn't know turns up in her life, her world is turned upside down. She also meets a man, but is she ready for a relationship?! And then there is her family, all of them think she is in a really bad state. You see Louisa has a lot to deal with and was great reading about her again.

I didn't know what to expect from this sequel and now after reading I have to say that it didn't convince me as Me Before You. Of course it doesn't have to be like that book and don't expect it to be. At times I got a bit lost in the story and I have to say I didn't like the ending. It's hard to explain, but it I had difficulties with Lou this time and parts of the story were not authentic for me.

I still really enjoyed this book, it was fab reading about certain characters again and you can see that Jojo put a lot of heart and passion in this book. It's a story about loss, family, trust, friendship and life. It's beautifully written, Jojo Moyes always finds the right words.

My Opinion:

I finally got to read another Jojo Moyes book again, it’s a short one, but still.

Nell is at the train station waiting for her boyfriend to arrive. He’s not going to make it, so she goes to Paris alone. What a fun weekend ahead…

It gets worse when she arrives at the hotel and her room is double booked, an American lady book it as well and it’s the last one available. Nell still hopes that her boyfriend turns up, but he cancels.

On Saturday morning she tries to go back home, but it’s just too expensive and when she finds two tickets for an exhibition she goes there. It’s where she meets the waiter again. She gives Fabien the second ticket and they spend the day together.

Fabien is trying to be an author and he somehow is constantly reminded of his ex-girlfriend.

Nell is not sure whether she shall go out with Fabien in the evening, but then she goes for it. It all gets really complicated when her boyfriend turns up. All Nell wants is to be with Fabien. She tries to find him…

I loved how free these two were, when they were together. No commitments, no rush, no nothing and I guess that’s what attracted them to each other. And they were able to be themselves.

A cute little story, about an adventurous weekend full of freedom, fun and passion. Jojo’s style is fresh and sweet and the story was a real pleasure to read.

My Opinion:

Two different women, two different lives, two different love stories... 

But the two women have so much in common and when Ellie finds Jennifer’s letters from 1960 the two stories become one.

Such a lovely idea and a pleasant change to the typical chick-lit books I recently read.

Jennifer Stirrling is married, but then she is in an accident and doesn’t remember anything. When she finds a love letter from some one called B and the letter is addressed to her, she is confused. Did she have a lover? It is hard for her to catch up and her relationship to her husband seems to be strange. I felt really bad for Jennifer and hoped that something would change. Jojo found a great way to describe Jennifer’s emotions. Her writing touches me every time.

The reader finds out about her lover and their story. In the 60ties women didn’t divorce their husbands and that’s why Jennifer stays with her husband, even when she finds out about her lover and sees Boot (Anthony) again. Four years later she has a beautiful daughter and spends another night with Boot. She leaves home again, but then she finds out the truth about her husband and wants to leave him. She’s looking for Anthony, but he’s gone...

Ellie finds Jennifer’s letters years later and the words instantly speak to her. She is in a similar position, loving a married man. She wants to find out more and tries to contact Jennifer. The two women talk a lot. It was great to read about two different generations connecting. Ellie also talks to a guy called Rory and then they get closer.

We find out what happened to Anthony and whether Jennifer sees him again.

And Ellie? She realises what’s good for her and goes for it. But is it too late? ...

A lovely romantic story, from two different times, who are somehow connected to each other. The ending was a bit odd though. Yes, Ellie realised what is good for her and also Jennifer found him again...

However, there are still some open questions. So, where is the sequel??? ;)
