Quotes - Chasing Daisy

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It's quote time again ;) This time I decided to post my favourite sayings out of Paige Toon's book Chasing Daisy. I love all of Paige's books so much, but this one is probably my favourite, loved Daisy, Will and Luis.

Paige kindly agreed to write a little text on her inspiration for the book, thank you so much Paige, I really appreciate it:

"My dad used to be a racing driver and was almost killed on two awful occasions. I didn't realise how dangerous the sport was until I was older, and then thankfully, he retired (after fracturing my poor mum's nerves for years!). I've met many racing drivers and I was absolutely devastated when Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger were killed within days of each other – I had a teenage crush on Roland when he drove for my dad at Le Mans, and I met Ayrton in the pits at the Australian GP the year before he died - he's my favourite driver of all time and I'm still affected by his death. You could say that all of these events inspired the story for Chasing Daisy." - Paige Toon

So here are the quotes, starting with another lovely picture the wonderful Isabell made, thank you so much hun ;) xx

I love this quote. There are risks to take in life, especially concerning love. Just go for it, everyone deserve to be with the love of their life. Enjoy every moment of your life, you never know when it ends...

We go on with more quotes, first up is Daisy.

„He told me he fell for me the moment I shouted at him from across the street when he almost ran me off my scooter. I told him it took me longer than that. He doesn’t care. I love him now, and that’s all that matters.” – Daisy

„I can see him clearly, now, and I know that’s a good thing. It means that I’m over him. A part of me will always love him, but Luis owns my heart now.“ – Daisy

„Please don’t take him from me, I beg. Please, no. He’s mine. He’s mine. He’s mine too lose.“ – Daisy

„He smiles at me as the butterflies go into overdrive, but he doesn’t attempt anything. It’s funny how sometimes the second kiss comes so much harder than the first one.“ – Daisy

„And then he reaches over and touches the tips of my fingers with his, sending an electric shock shooting all the way up my arm and into my head.“ – Daisy

Now our lovely Will, miss him ♥:

“God, Daisy, this is really doing my head in.“ „You.“ – Will

 „I can’t believe I’m letting you go.“ – Will

Last but not least Luis:

„That I had the hots for you? Come on, that must’ve been obvious.“ – Luis

„You look better out of it than in, and I didn’t think that was possible.“ – Luis

Hope a all liked the post. A big thank you to Isabell for the beautiful picture, you're so talented! ♥

And a huge thank you to Paige for writing her inspiration for the book, so I could include it here. ♥ ♥

See you soon lovelies, have a nice weekend.

Chasing Daisy - by Paige Toon

Original Cover
My own copy

The blurb:

If you fall too fast... you might just crash

‘You don’t have to worry about me. I have no intention of getting my heart broken again.’

Of course, I’m lying. I feel like Will is chipping a little piece of it away, day by day. It’s killing me...

Daisy Rogers is in love – and that’s no good thing. It’s not that her very famous ex is neither out of sight nor out of mind, but that the man of her dreams, William Trust, has a girlfriend – a childhood sweetheart, no less. And as a Formula 1 racing driver, he puts his life at risk every day he goes to work.

From Melbourne to Monte Carlo, and São Paulo to Singapore, Daisy and her best friend Holly travel the world as hospitality girls on the Grand Prix scene. But with more secrets between them than Paris Hilton has shoes, life promises to be nothing short of a whirlwind.

My Opinion:

Daisy takes you into the story immediately. With her swearing in Italian, I was hooked in the first chapter, because I do that all the time too;). So for me it wasn’t difficult to understand Daisy and I fell in love with her. Luis seemed kind of arrogant first, but that changed soon.
Having read Baby be Mine already, I knew with whom she was going to end up, but pssst... I’m not telling ;)

Luis’s teammate Will Trust is gorgeous with his beautiful blue eyes and blonde hair. Daisy is immediately taken by him, but he has a girlfriend, they’re childhood sweethearts. She tells Holly, her best friend, about her feelings, but she still does have secrets, and so does Holly.
Daisy spends time with Will and Luis. Her first hatred against Luis, isn’t there anymore. One of the two drivers especially asks for her to be their help during the races, but who was it? Will or Luis?
One evening Daisy tells Luis a little about her past and her connection to the Italian language. That’s when it comes to me and I realise who she is. I just say PAOLA...

Daisy loves spending time with Will, watching films or just talking, but then there’s the race in Monaco and who comes along? Laura, Will’s gorgeous girlfriend. Daisy’s mood suddenly changes and then Luis confronts her with her past. Yes, she was Johnny Jefferson’s PA and she slept with him. She only wants to forget about this time.

During the weekend of the next race Will wants to talk to her. Something she doesn’t expect at all happens: He confesses his feelings to her, but there’s still Laura... They stop themselves, but just one night later Daisy tells him about the moment she fell for him (so cute) and a goodnight kiss leads to more. One more they stop themselves, because Will wants to sort out things with Laura first.
I was so happy, they finally were true to each other and future is calling.
But that wouldn’t be fun, would it? We are only half way through the book. Silverstone, the home race, comes next and Laura has a big charity event there, that means, Will has to stay with her, but at least he told her. He shows Daisy his house in a quiet moment and they can’t stop their feelings anymore ...
Unfortunately something UNEXPECTED happens the day of the race. Being a racing driver puts your life at risk everyday.
Daisy is shocked, she cannot work anymore and Holly tries to be there with her. At the funeral (Luis takes her) she loses it completely, she’s even mean to Luis.

She returns to New York, where her mum and dad live, but she doesn’t feel at home and decides to return to England and work for the team again. She sees Luis again and he’s a complete mess. Somehow she finds the right words to encourage him, but when she sees the race all of the emotions come back.
Daisy takes a break and visits her grandmother in Italy, Luis follows her, because he doesn’t want her to leave again. The two of them spend more and more time together and Daisy thinks she might have feelings for him. But, he’s a player, she doesn’t want to go through the pain she had with Johnny again. Luis tries everything to impress her, but things go on slowly. Then he takes her to all of the official events, buys her a beautiful dress and then ...

For the last race of the season they all go to Brazil, it’s Luis’ home race. He takes her to see his family. He also confronts her with her feelings for Will. It’s only during the race, when Luis has a crash, when she realises what she wants and that she needs him.

This story is amazing!!! I fell in love with Daisy instantly and couldn’t stop reading. I took the book  everywhere: the bus, the toilet, the train, to table in the kitchen ...
Paige Toon’s writing is addicting and emotional. When I thought everything was going to turn out okay, a new and sad thing (in this story) happens and takes you even more into the story.
Luis and Daisy helped each other to get trough this terrible time and they just belong together. ♥ ♥
My favourite Paige Toon book, but still I LOVE THEM ALL SOOOO MUCH!!!
