Lindsey Kelk is back, yay!!! She is one of my fave authors, so I’m always really excited about her books!

This story follows Liv and Adam. Liv is a vet and works for her father's veterinary practice and Adam is a carpenter. On a holiday in Mexico Adam planst o propose to Liv (she knows about it). However, the proposal nevers happens and then the drama starts. They see themselves on o break from their relationship, or is it more?! Are they even split up.

It’s a very important journey for both of them to go through. They have to figure out what they actually want in life and in a relationship. Liv’s did handing over the surgery to her, doesn’t make things easier, but the whole storyline was necessary fort hem to find out what’s important to them.

I fell in love with both characters immediately. They both have their flaws and sometimes they made some weird decisions, but that’s what makes them so relatable and authentic. The other characters surrounding these two built a great group around them, which makes the story really exciting! Oh and then there is Daniel Craig (the cat). I love this cat, definitely adds some sparks to the story.

I don’t even know where to start, when it comes to describing how I feel about this book. Lindsey’s writing is witty, romantic, unpredictable, hilarious, clever, energetic, bubbly, vivid and so much more. The storyline has a beautiful flow and is brilliantly put together. For the first time Lindsey involved the male’s perspective in a book and it puts the book on a whole new level. Liv and Adam take turns narrating and it was very interesting to follow Adam around. Lindsey did a great job there.

I devoured every second of this book and I think the ending is FAB and so is the title! The whole book is actually! :)

I’m Not a Morning Person

6 am, Monday morning, alarm goes off!!!

Yes, this exactly! I just want to stay in my comfy bed. Mondays are the worst, but also the other days. I mean I love my job, but getting up in the morning is so hard sometimes.

The funniest thing: I wasn’t like that at all as a child. I was the perfect example of a morning person. I got up immediately, smiled and talked like a crazy person. Even on weekends I got up really early, most oft he time with my brother, so we could play Nintendo and our parents wouldn’t find out, that was so much fun.

I still get up pretty fast, I don’t hit the snooze button, but that doesn’t mean that I actually want to get up. Everything just works really slowly ;). During breakfast I don’t want to disturbed at all. If someone speaks and wants to talk to me I barely react, I’m just not ready for a conversation yet.

Coffee helps me! As most of you know I love coffee, so I have one pretty soon in the morning. What also helps: water, I started drinking more water and that is just good to feel fresh and it’s good for your body.

In spring and summer it’s easier to get up, it’s so much harder in the winter months, when it’s still dark outside and the weather is bad.

There are a lot of tips online on how to be become a morning person, but seriously, if you’re not a morning person, don’t force it. Why should you change your whole routine for it?! We are all unique individuals with different personalities, some of use are night owls and work better in the evening and others do everything in the morning. This is what makes the world interesting and we shouldn’t all be the same. You learn to love with whatever your situation is. I mean I’m not a morning person, but I prefer working in the mornings, so that I can go home in he afternoon and enjoy other things! Otherwise I would just sleep until 9 am and the morning is gone, I don’t really see the point in this.

On weekends I tend to sleep until around 10 am, I like to lie in and maybe read for a while.

So here is my story about this topic. What about you? Are you a morning person?!

Sky’s Musical Corner – Reflection on CHESS

If you have read the performance post on Tuesday you know that CHESS is over and yes I’m still sad. It’s like you fall into a little hole, not knowing what to do with your life besides work. Of course that’s not true, because I read and blog and do other things, but during the days right after the derniere I always feel a bit melancholic.

CHESS was an amazing experience! I enjoyed every minute of it, even though it was exhausting at times, especially the get in week. Read about it HERE.

I fell in love with the music of the musical once more and I still can’t believe I was lucky enough to sing some of them and perform them on stage. It was once again time to learn all these movements and lyrics by heart and it wasn’t a challenge for me at all. I guess you get used to it and I would advise anyone to just sing and go through the song as often as you can and then suddenly it’s there.

Working with the cast has been an absolute pleasure, there are some wonderful people I got to know and rehearsals have been so much fun. Spending time with them backstage and after the show is just fab, I will miss them!

The audience has been great and I loved hearing all the feedback from friends, colleagues, family and people I don’t even know. When you hear thing like “Next sop London” or “it was like a broadway” show it seems surreal, but at the same time we all felt so honoured.

For this production I was responsible for social media, especially Facebook, Twitter and Instagram is not a big thing in Switzerland, unless someone has a blog or does photography. I started posting rehearsal pictures, promoted our website, articles and much more. At one point one of the cast members came up to help me and we created the section HUMANS of CHESS, where we interviewed the cast members and introduced them day after day on Facebook. In between there were the other posts as well. It got to a point, where I got a bit fed up with the whole thing though. Our Chess Facebook site has less like than our theatre group’s facebook site, but the Chess site, got many more views, which was a good sign for me, people didn’t see it that way though. They thing because I have 4000 twitter followers or because they share everything on their Facebook site, people here should do the same. It took me a long time to get that many followers and I’m sorry if I’m not spaming my friends with a cast member everyday. I agree that the feature was a great idea, but it got a bit one-sided towards the end and my other posts were way more successful. All in all, I think this was the hardest part of the production for me, because nobody sees the work you actually do and working with people who have a different opinion is not always easy. All in all I can say that I learned a lot through this experience.

I don’t want to let this spoil the whole thing though. CHESS was such a wonderful production and experience and I wouldn’t want to miss it for the world.
