I never knew my mother, and all I have of her is a photo with a note scrawled on the back in French saying "I'm sorry." The only Female Figure I had growing up is my dad's wife who is a bleach blond with seven boob jobs. We never bonded.

I drink. I party. I meet guys.

But I wasn't always like that.

I've had a string of lovers in the last few years, the worst and most recent of which was Vince Somerset. My best friend Vera was dating a guy called Rory Cansoom who is the opposite of Vince in so many ways, and yet so the same.

She and I hit the road for spring break, getting away from the two college psychos and just trying to have some fun.

But there's a funny thing about trouble, the more you run from it, the more it finds you.

Which is when I met the Debt Collector.

It was only supposed to be sex. He made that clear. I made that clear.

That's all it was supposed to be.

I was more than excited when this book landed on my doorstep. I’m a big fan of Amanda’s writing, it’s very emotional and touching and she has done it again with this book.

Another Love follows Romilly and her family. Romilly is married to David, I think they make a great couple, I loved reading about how everything started between them. Romilly and David have a daughter, her name is Celeste. Celeste is a great girl and she always got to share her thoughts as well. Romilly is happy and has everything she needs.

But then everything changes… She starts drinking, a lot… It gets worse and worse and her family is worried. David is there for her, but at one point it’s too much for him as well. And what about Celeste?! Such a difficult situation. We got to read this story from two sides: Romilly herself and also Celeste. This made the story even more moving and emotional.
Celeste goes through so much in this book, unbelievable to see your own mother to go through all this. I was happy she had her Dad and then also something like a second mum.

Amanda touches a very sensitive topic with alcohol addiction, she does in in a very touching and emphatic way. While reading about Romilly and what she does and thinks, you really get deep inside the whole situation.

Amanda really has an amazing way with words! Her writing is incredible and she manages to write about difficult topics and make a unique and special story out of them. Her characters are lined out perfectly and you feel really close to them. This book is honest, deep, strong and so much more. Have some tissues ready, because your feelings will be on an emotional roller-coaster ride! A BRILLIANT BOOK!!!

The Social Media Book Tag

I actually found this tag on YouTube by coincidence. I don’t really follow any book vloggers/reviewers on YouTube , but the title sounded great, so I checked it out. I actually wrote this post before starting my channel, so that's why it is a blog post. I also don't have that much time to film, so blog posts is just a faster way. 

Here we go...

1.    Twitter - You're favourite short book.

Hmmm...good question. I’ve read some great short ones. Nikki Moore wrote some fab ones for her #LoveLondon series, Skating at Somerset House is my faveourite.

2.    Facebook - A book that everyone pressured you into reading.

Can I also say a series here?! Or let’s just say the first book of the series ;) It’s the „Beautiful“ series by Christina Lauren. The first book of this series is called Beautiful Bastard, a lot of my book blogging friends recommended it to me. Some of them did a Sex me Up Readathon in 2014 and the series was highly recommended to me, I fell in love with it, just like they said I would.

3.    Tumblr - A book you read before it was cool!

I think I’m going to cheat a little bit here, but I read The Definition of Icing by Aven Ellis as a Beta Reader and fell in love it it. That also happend with the books she published after that. Her books are great and reaching a wider audience now.

4.    Myspace - A book you don't remember if you liked or not.

I have several of these... One of them is Coming Home For Christmas by Julia Williams. I wasn’t overly excited when I started or finished it and I couldn’t tell you anything about it, only that it’s connected to Christmas ;).

5.    Instagam - The most beautiful book you own.

Oh God, my bookshelf is full of beautiful books ;), but the most beautiful one I own is the new Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – Illustrated Edition. So beautiful and I ADORE the story.

6.    YouTube - A book you wish could be turned into a movie.

Chasing Daisy by Paige Toon. Paige Toon is a fantastic author and that’s one of my fave stories. The storyline is great, the characters are awesome and I think it would make a fabulous movie.

7.    Goodreads - A book you recommend to EVERYONE!

You can’t expect a normal answer from a book blogger here ;) I would either say a book by Aven Ellis or Paige Toon or Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. It’s one oft he best books I’ve ever read, touching, emotional, beautifully written and so much more.

My opinion:

This story touches your heart and goes under your skin. Dani created a real MASTERPIECE here, this will definitely be one of my books of the year for 2016.
